Summary:
The person serving in this position directs credential evaluations, student academic records preparation and analysis, or student registration work and/or serves as a professional specialist in admissions, registration, or records activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Evaluate applications and credentials for admission (domestic, foreign, military, ACE recommended) of both domestic and international students and conducts follow through.
Utilize the Student Information System for entering and updating data on all students (e.g., prior college, UIS academic record, biographical, demographic).
Advise students, staff, and faculty regarding admission, residency, and degree requirements. Resolve admission and credit transfer problems of students.
Generate correspondence to students regarding credentials analysis (foreign and domestic) and alternative admissions.
Advise students, staff, and faculty regarding transferability of coursework.
Act as liaison between the Office of Records and Registration and program representatives regarding undergraduate admission, academic program prerequisites, and other matters.
Participate in recruitment activities, when necessary.
Research international universities.
Determine what academic programs need for registration processes. Placing and releasing holds.
Work with academic programs to determine procedures for admission, set up how we handle these changes, and implement new policies accordingly.
Review error reports, make corrections to the Student Information System as needed.
Review and update applicant files as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
