of Orthodontics and state licensing bodies for the specialty practice of orthodontics. The program includes participation in
formal lectures, seminars, and laboratory courses; pursuit of orthodontically oriented research; teacher-assisting in
undergraduate teaching of orthodontics; and treatment of patients in the orthodontic clinic. Upon completion of the course,
students are awarded a certificate of proficiency by the College of Dentistry. The program is accredited by the Commission on
Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
A minimum of 30 months of continuous attendance is required of the candidates for the specialty certificate and M.S. degree.
