Position Summary
Provides IT support as part of the Technology and Building Systems team for various departments in VCAS. Supports technical systems run by Technology and Building Systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide primary Help Desk support, responding to tickets as first tier support.
- Troubleshoots data communication, connectivity and other workstation network issues.
- Solves hardware and software issues for employees: identifies researches and resolves issues related to operating systems, applications, and other technical problems.
- Serves as a resource to VCAS staff in resolving technical and applications issues.
- Provides technical consultation to staff and customers Manage Active Directory user accounts and access levels.
- Manage software and security updates for hardware and software.
- Coordinates with UIC Technology Solutions and Telecom to resolve departmental network and related systems issues.
- Supports and issues departmental technology such as mobile devices, laptops, desktops.
- Maintains campus CCTV system by verifying operation and troubleshooting camera issues.
- Maintains inventory of equipment.
- Completes department projects as assigned.
- Provide in-person and remote technology support for all OVCAS units including PCs and Android devices.
- Manage IT inventory.
- Respond to technical support requests using Request Tracker.
- Manage device installations and policy via Active Director, Group Policy, and Intune.
- Manage device security using Microsoft Defender, Splunk, and Qualys.
- Perform other duties as assigned
