Position Summary
Under the direction of the HR Director, the Extra Help Human Resource Officer provides critical HR support in advancing the Department's human resources operations and strategic initiatives. This role contributes to the development and execution of workforce planning strategies, policy implementation and compliance, employee and labor relations, faculty affairs, payroll administration, and organizational training programs. The position plays a key role in ensuring efficient HR operations, regulatory compliance, and continuity of services during periods of increased workload.
The Extra Help Human Resource Officer will assist with full-cycle talent acquisition and onboarding efforts, supporting the recruitment and retention of a highly qualified and diverse workforce across the Department's administrative units, research laboratories, ambulatory care centers, and satellite locations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all HR personnel records in compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor, track, and reconcile employee attendance, leave balances, and time reporting to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with applicable policies.
- Support faculty affairs initiatives, including coordination of appointments, promotions, tenure processes, and related administrative activities in compliance with College & Campus policies.
- Partner with the HR Director to develop, review, and refine job descriptions and conduct job analyses to support organizational design and workforce planning initiatives.
- Manage recruitment logistics by posting positions, screening applicants, coordinating candidate communications, and scheduling interviews to support efficient and effective hiring processes.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the HR Director across a broad range of HR functions and departmental initiatives.
- Prepare and draft employment offer letters and related documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with institutional guidelines.
- Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation and training programs to promote a seamless onboarding experience and early employee engagement.
- Oversee HR onboarding processes, ensuring timely completion of required documentation, system access, and compliance-related activities.
- Support employee relations efforts by assisting in the review, documentation, and resolution of workplace concerns in collaboration with HR Director & Department leadership.
