Position Summary
The Extra Help Business Manager will advise and initiate appropriate applications of corrective discipline within the guidelines of the Student Centers Policies and Procedures, and UIC policies and rules resulting in correction or dismissal of non-compliant employees. Serve as the department's HR representative working closely with SA HR.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Handle all department level disciplinaries cases, which include conducting verbal counseling meetings held in the dept and submitting all tickets beyond verbal infractions to SA HR.
- Schedule and attend all disciplinary hearings with the Superintendent, Deputy Director, and/or Director.
- Includes writing all synopsis and gather videos for hearings.
- Assist in reviewing and correcting performance reviews before submitting to SA HR.
- Generating an internal method to updating and maintaining the tracking form of all employees with FMLA.
- Ensure all employees are following the criteria stipulated in their tracking form. Keep track of deadlines and submit all tracking forms to HR.
- Conduct Leadership Training and Mentorship Conduct internal consulting and training related to performance improvement.
- Assist with development and interpretation of the Operations Handbook.
- Includes updating, maintaining, and distributing the department handbook to all employees. Ensure all employees sign off on receiving handbooks.
- Compile and assemble data and prepare administrative reports.
- Manage business correspondences.
- Serve as the department liaison to SA HR.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
