Position Summary
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics seeks an Extra Help Business/Administrative Associate to manage and oversee the department's business operations. This role ensures all financial and administrative activities are conducted efficiently and in full compliance with university policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with the department’s daily operations, fiscal management and perform problem troubleshooting as needed.
Manage the department’s educational and training projects for professional development and advancement.
Assist with travel, including flights, hotels, and other logistical needs for select Staff.
Assess, formulate, and evaluate the impact of recommended or implemented policies from a strategic and operational perspective.
Ensure that business policies are executed efficiently and in compliance with NCAA, Horizon League and University policies and procedures.
Assist in the evaluation and assessment of key objectives and long-term goals and make appropriate recommendations.
Exercise independent determination of approaches to projects and priorities as needed in support of the department.
Use appreciable judgment in the development of policies and procedures related to athletics administration, business, compliance, and event operations issues frequently not covered by existing policies and procedures.
Use appreciable ingenuity and innovation to conceive new business approaches and solutions to address complex problems and issues facing the Department of Intercollegiate
Athletics.
Serve as the primary contact for various athletics administration, business, compliance, facility, and event management needs. As needed, manage relationships with outside entities or agencies and manage sensitive information and situations.
Assisting with corporate card reimbursements, travel and expense reconciliation, and other financial activities.
Coordinate contracts with campus departments, event organizers, caterers, decorators, sound companies etc.
Initiate contracts for unit approval and comptroller signature.
Assist with developing post-season tournament bids.
Purchase equipment, material, supplies and services for use in venue for events.
Develop relationships with vendors and recommend suppliers for needed supplies and services.
Other administrative duties as assigned.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
