The Temporary Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for executing the daily incoming workflow of reagents, consumables, and general inventory supporting regulated laboratory operations. This role ensures the accurate and compliant handling of materials, including receiving, quarantine, storage, distribution, and shipment coordination. The Specialist supports both regulated (GMP) and non-regulated materials while maintaining organized and efficient warehouse and dock operations.
This position works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements and to maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute receiving activities for both GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and non-GMP materials within ERP and Laboratory Management Systems.
- Manage incoming materials through receiving, inspection, quarantine, and storage processes in compliance with established procedures.
- Issue and deliver materials using Kanban and 5S methodologies to maintain optimal inventory levels and support operational needs.
- Perform routine cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy aligns with departmental targets.
- Provide shipping and logistics support for all inbound and outbound materials, including packaging, labeling, and coordination with carriers.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness of the loading dock and storerooms.
- Support inbound and outbound package management, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Experience in supply chain, warehouse, or inventory management, preferably within a regulated environment (e.g., laboratory, pharmaceutical, or biotech).
- Familiarity with GMP standards and inventory control systems (ERP/LIMS preferred).
- Knowledge of Kanban, 5S, or other lean inventory practices is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
- Laboratory and warehouse setting with regular interaction in loading dock and storage areas.
- May require lifting, standing, and handling of materials in accordance with safety guidelines.
