Supply Chain and Procurement Specialists play an important role in ensuring the efficiency of business logistics. They oversee the sourcing, transportation, and inventory of materials, as well as the delivery of products to end users. They collaborate closely with material suppliers, manufacturing teams, and buyers to ensure that all components and products are delivered accurately and on schedule. Supply Chain and Procurement Specialists proactively resolve issues to ensure inventory is available to meet sales demands and overall business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, review, and manage purchase orders for vendors; ensure accuracy and alignment with inventory and operational needs.
- Maintain strong communication with suppliers to track order status and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and warehouse teams to arrange pickups and drop-offs, optimizing shipment schedules and routes.
- Track in-transit shipments to verify that the correct quantities and variants are delivered to the appropriate location
- Partner with Finance to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.
- Work with Product Development to confirm shipped units meet all specifications and regulatory standards.
- Input and maintain data in portals, trackers, and reporting tools to ensure alignment across teams.
- Prepare regular reports on order status, delivery performance, and potential risks.
- Support inventory management activities by tracking receipts and flagging discrepancies.
- Assist in maintaining accurate supply chain records, including invoices, packing lists, and customs/shipping documents.
Procurement and supply chain specialists typically need:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and familiarity with ERP systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
