Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Repair Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of phones and home electronics. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical expertise and problem-solving skills are highly valued. The Repair Technician plays a crucial part in minimizing downtime and supporting the overall efficiency of our operations.

Core Technical Responsibilities

  • Diagnose issues with smartphones, tablets, laptops, game consoles, and other consumer electronics
  • Perform component-level repairs (screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, speakers, etc.)
  • Execute advanced repairs when trained (water damage treatment if applicable, data recovery)
  • Use proper tools, ESD precautions, and manufacturer-aligned repair procedures
  • Run pre-repair and post-repair device testing to verify functionality
  • Maintain detailed repair notes and documentation in POS/repair management system
  • Ensure parts are properly installed and devices are reassembled to original standard
  • Keep repair turnaround times efficient and meet store performance metrics

Customer Service & Communication

  • Greet customers and perform intake assessments
  • Clearly explain diagnostics, repair options, pricing, warranty terms, and timelines
  • Provide honest expectations and professional guidance
  • Update customers on repair status when needed
  • Deliver devices back to customers and review completed work and warranty coverage

Quality & Compliance

  • Follow company quality standards and repair best practices
  • Uphold warranty and insurance partner guidelines (Asurion, Samsung, Google, Apple partnerships if applicable)
  • Protect customer data and privacy
  • Ensure accurate part usage, inventory logging, and accountability

Store Operations

  • Assist with inventory management: receiving, organizing, counting parts, returning defective items
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and workbench
  • Support front-of-store operations when needed (checkout, phone calls, scheduling)
  • Contribute to sales of accessories, protection plans, and services when appropriate
  • Participate in training, certifications, and ongoing skill development

Team & Professionalism

  • Work collaboratively with team members and leadership
  • Maintain punctuality, reliability, and professionalism
  • Represent the brand positively with strong ethics and customer care
  • Perform component-level repairs (screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, speakers, etc.)

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces when necessary. Pay: $ $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week

Experience:

  • Software troubleshooting: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Carlsbad, CA Required)
