What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Supervisor - Emergency Department - Weekend Days position at UAB Medicine?

- Schedule: Weekend only: Saturday & Sunday : Days- 7ap-7pm
- Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham - Birmingham, Al.

Supervise and coordinate unit staffing and provides leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.
- Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
- Assess daily patient care needs and develops and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
- Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
- May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- ACLS obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- PALS obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
