Duties

Help

  • You will independently perform and coordinate receiving operations, including unloading shipments, verifying materials, and resolving discrepancies.
  • You will independently perform and coordinate storage operations, including organizing, storing, and rotating materials and maintaining storage records.
  • You will independently perform and coordinate warehouse and consolidation operations, including consolidating and relocating materials and verifying data accuracy.
  • You will independently perform and coordinate selection and assembly operations, including organizing, assembling, and staging materials and maintaining issue and shipping records.
  • You will ensure safe, accurate, and compliant handling of materials in accordance with established safety, environmental, equipment use and security requirements.
  • You will operate and utilize common hand tools and different kinds of complex materials handling equipment, either multi-functional equipment or greater than 10,000 pounds capacity.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States Commercial driver's license within 90 days of employment and maintain license.
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Program (DTP) position and is subject to initial and random drug testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.


Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to perform common tasks including unloading incoming shipments, using common hand tools and different kinds of complex material handling equipment.

This position requires standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring or uncomfortable positions.

Must frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds and may handle heavier items using lifting equipment or with assistance from other workers.

Work may be performed in hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lit environments.

This position regularly exposes employees to risks of cuts, scrapes, bruises, falls from ladders, falling materials, and equipment-related injuries.

This position may involve exposure to dust, dirt, grease, solvents, and high noise levels in mechanized work areas, as well as radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes in hazardous materials areas.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
