What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Officer position at U.S. Department of State?
This is a TEMPORARY, INTERMITTENT position located in Office of the Executive Director, Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. The incumbent serves as an Administrative Officer responsible for providing emergency administrative and general services expertise on a temporary (TDY) basis at posts throughout the Western Hemisphere.

Qualifications:
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience advising senior executives on administrative issues, providing expert recommendations on policies, procedures, and solutions related to overseas missions.

Experience managing multiple administrative functional areas such as human resources, budgeting, procurement, and property management to ensure continuity and effectiveness of overseas operations.

Experience analyzing overseas administrative programs and operations to identify problems, assess effectiveness, and recommend improvements to processes, policies, or resource allocation.

Experience resolving complex administrative problems at overseas missions by applying comprehensive knowledge of administrative regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Experience serving abroad at a US Embassy and/or Consulate.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
To be considered well-qualified, in addition to meeting minimum qualifications, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in some, but not all of the major aspects of the position.
Salary : $143,913
