Duties

  • Serve as a Senior Force Management Action Officer and point of contact for INSCOM Headquarters (HQ) and/or Major Subordinate Commands (MSC).
  • Identify organizational needs and implement programs for the integration of concepts, doctrine, material, personnel, training, and support.
  • Conduct assessment of operational requirements.
  • Participate in and conduct working groups and committees.
  • Present, verbally and written, complex Force Management issues and actions to senior military and civilian personnel.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% of the time.
  • Overtime/shift work may be required.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Managing and integrating force structure functions including developing authorization documents (Tables of Organization and Equipment/ Modified Tables of Organization and Equipment/ Tables of Distribution and Allowances), representing the organization in interagency meetings and/or working groups, and informing senior leadership on manpower and equipment requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-12).

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
