Summary:
This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds regarding the proper care and comfort. Duties would include, but are not limited to:
- Advising producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation.
- Visiting farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor bird health, and provide remedy when possible.
- Monitoring feed consumption and ordering if necessary
- Pulling blood and fat samples as required
- Coordinating chick placements to farms
- Assisting with catch schedules
- Ensuring communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul departments regarding their contract farms.
- Ensuring compliance with the production contract to optimize flock quality and minimize costs.
- Ensuring adherence to all USDA and other government regulations regarding poultry handling.
- Working with the Broiler and Breeder Departments in coordinating weekly chick placements
- Performing other responsibilities as the need arises.
- Education: bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience: 1 years of related work experience
- Computer Skills: Elementary computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries.
- Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year
- Must not own, possess, or maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl
