A well-established engineering consultancy with a strong national presence is seeking a Senior Roadway Project Engineer to join their Orlando, FL office. This is a senior role with real leadership responsibility- you will serve as Engineer of Record on projects, oversee junior engineers, and play an active role in project management, proposals, and client delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Engineer of Record on roadway design projects and oversee junior engineers in the development of plans, reports, and specifications
- Develop and review complete project documents for quality assurance and conformity
- Analyse complex engineering projects to determine design requirements, uncertainties, and constraints
- Assign tasks to technical and non-technical staff and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work
- Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for project assignments
- Assist with proposals to provide professional services and secure new work
- Lead project meetings and represent the organisation in communications with clients and stakeholders
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development
- Keep current with updates to FDOT standards, regulations, and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- 8 years of experience in roadway design with a focus on FDOT projects
- PE licence in Florida required — reciprocity in multiple states a plus
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer (ORD) is a plus
- Design-Build project experience is a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage multidisciplinary teams
