Job Title: BIM/CAD Operator – Electrical Construction
Position Overview:
After over half a century of successful project wins, our client is hiring a high calibre BIM/CADD Operator to support accurate design, documentation, and construction of building systems for their large scale mission critical projects in Boise, Idaho. As BIM/CAD Operator, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and coordinating digital models and drawings within a virtual environment. This role supports the design and construction teams by producing accurate 2D and 3D documentation of electrical systems for field installation and coordination with other trades.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), BIM, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical construction or related drafting environment.
- Knowledge of electrical symbols, conventions, and industry drafting standards.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Trimble, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to translate verbal or written instructions into accurate shop drawings.
- Skilled in managing Revit families, views, sheets, schedules, filters, and browser structures.
- Strong understanding of 2D and 3D spatial coordination and clash detection with other trades.
- Competence in importing/exporting files and maintaining document control.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Model electrical systems based on markups or verbal instructions from detailers.
- Prepare Revit views, sheets, and annotations for shop drawings.
- Conduct 2D/3D coordination with other trades to ensure clash-free designs.
- Utilize Bluebeam Revu to mark up and review PDF drawings with team members.
- Assist in preparing document sets for transmittal and review.
- Verify accuracy of work prior to submission and maintain project documentation.
- Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
