A multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its team. The organization specializes in mechanical and electrical design for building systems, with a strong focus on renovations, system upgrades, and work within existing and occupied facilities.
The firm works closely with public-sector and institutional clients, delivering practical, cost-conscious solutions tailored to long-term facility needs. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across all phases of a project, from early assessments through construction.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems for building projects
- Support design of systems such as generators, lighting controls, fire alarm, and communication systems
- Prepare engineering documents including drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Evaluate existing electrical systems and develop upgrade or replacement solutions
- Assist with site investigations to assess existing conditions and inform design decisions
- Coordinate closely with mechanical engineers and other disciplines on integrated building systems
- Support projects involving renovations, phased construction, and occupied facilities
Project Leadership
- Contribute to electrical design efforts across multiple projects simultaneously
- Assist with project coordination, scheduling, and maintaining deliverable timelines
- Work directly with clients, facility staff, and project stakeholders
- Support project planning for renovations, system replacements, and new installations
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain consistency and quality across deliverables
Technical Leadership
- Apply knowledge of electrical systems including distribution, lighting, controls, and auxiliary systems
- Support analysis of existing systems and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions
- Assist during construction phases including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
- Participate in field visits to observe installation and verify design intent
- Contribute to design consistency and documentation standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5 years of experience in building systems or consulting engineering
- PE preferred
- Knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and building infrastructure
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Comfort working on renovation and existing facility projects
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $85,000 – $115,000
