Job Description: Brand Manager based in Chicago
Reporting to Marketing Director
Hybrid - WFH Monday & Fridays - rest of the week in the office
Summary of Functions
The Brand Manager is responsible for the development, launch, and commercialization of products/brands based on defined company objectives and brand architectures. Overseeing the development and delivery of both the NPD roadmaps and brand plans, they work in collaboration with the cross-functional team to execute the vision, strategy, and key initiatives for assigned brands.
Primary Functions
1.Product Development: Focused on innovation, expansion, diversification, and gap-fill analysis.
2.Commercialization Planning: Managing ideation, business processes, and stakeholder support stages of bringing brands to market.
3.Ongoing Brand Activity: Implementing strategies with social, education, and trade teams to increase consumer trial and engagement online and at shelf.
Responsibilities
•Develop and implement brand strategies for new and existing products, including assortment, innovation, and pricing communications.
•Lead day-to-day brand budget management, including SPRs, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
•Ensure dollars are spent effectively within budgetary parameters while balancing expenditures against volume and profitability.
•Manage all aspects of new product launches, working with R&D, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Creative Services to ensure on-time delivery.
•Participate in the creative development and execution of national and local advertising campaigns across TV, radio, print, and digital media.
•Partner with Sales and Trade Marketing teams to develop growth strategies across key assigned accounts.
•Provide monthly analysis on performance, promotions, competitive environments, and consumer trends.
•Maintain awareness of global innovations, trends, and competitor activity in both mass and prestige markets.
Qualifications & Competencies
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, brand management, communications, or a similar field.
•Experience: 1–2 years’ experience in a traditional CPG or FMCG environment.
•Analytical Skills: Demonstrated aptitude to turn data into actionable insights.
•Project Management: Experience managing complex project lists, priorities, and budgets.
•Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
•Soft Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
