Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team supporting multiple TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise locations across several states. This position offers broad exposure to multi-entity accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll and operational accounting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical and interested in growing their accounting knowledge and responsibilities. Job Responsibilities Provide backup support for payroll processing as needed Sales tax filings Reconcile bank and credit card accounts Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations Participate in and eventually own portions of the monthly close Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation Review general ledger activity for accuracy and proper classification Prepare monthly financial and management reports Assist with accruals, allocations and balance-sheet reconciliations Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis Support year-end, insurance/audit and tax-related requests Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend corrections/process improvements Project support as needed Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience considered Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines Payroll experience preferred 2 years of accounting experience preferred Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations and month-end close strongly preferred Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience is a plus Excellent oral and written communication skills Provide outstanding and timely customer service Exceptional organizational skills and must be able to multi-task under time constraints Ensure accuracy and consistency Ability to work independently Proficient in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Health, dental and vision insurance Paid time off Paid holidays This job posting is for a position at the individually owned and operated TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
