Twin Rivers Developmental Supports, Inc. currently has a position opening for a Registered Nurse to provide services in our day and residential programs to individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities.
This is a full-time salaried position working 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday receiving calls in the evenings and weekends.
Starting hourly wage is $30.00 per hour with additional wages based on experience and education. This position offers medical/dental/vision, life/disability benefits, sick leave, vacation, and holiday pay.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Supporting the medical needs of individuals in a vocational and/or home setting
Teaching the agency medication education curriculum. Provide consultation, education, and information as appropriate to those served, staff, and parents/guardians.
Oversee wellness monitoring, etc.
May attend consumer PCSP meetings for medically fragile individuals or those with medical needs who need a medical advocate.
Assure and implement the safe administration, storage, labeling, and record keeping of consumer medications both in residential and day programs.
Coordinate appropriate protective and preventative health measures to include staff training and infection control, preventive health first aid, and medication policies and procedures.
Delegation of nursing activities to non-licensed personnel in assigned program areas.
Assure that nursing practices follow applicable organization, state, federal and licensing/accreditation regulations.
Annually review and update organizational nursing practices making recommendations, as necessary.
Assure the rights and dignity of person served, protecting persons served against abuse, mistreatment, neglect, and exploitation.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse License with the State of Kansas.
One year experience in a program serving individuals with developmental disabilities, nursing home, or hospital setting.
CRC, MVR, ANE, KDHE, SOR and Medicaid fraud checks are completed on all employees. Drug testing is conducted pre-employment and randomly.
