Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Assist consumers with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor consumers health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams.
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area.
- Engage consumers in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being.
- Maintain a clean living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning rooms, laundry, and common areas.
- Follow safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures; respond effectively during emergencies or incidents.
- Document care activities accurately in consumer records while respecting privacy regulations like HIPAA.
- Collaborate with team members to develop personalized care plans tailored to each consumer’s needs.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is preferred but NOT REQUIRED.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills and patience are necessary for effective caregiving and teamwork.
- Ability to perform light cleaning tasks and meal preparation safely and efficiently.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist residents with mobility challenges; familiarity with equipment like Hoyer lifts is advantageous.
Requirements:
- PROOF of high school diploma or equivalent
- 2 valid forms of identification (Twin Oaks can provide a list of accepted documents.)
- Clean background check
- U.S. work authorization
