What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Specialized Support Services, Inc.?
Looking to grow our team of excellent Direct Support Professionals who make a difference in our consumers' lives. Our Direct Support Professionals assist with the implementation of consumer Person Centered Support Plans (PCSPs) and Activities of Daily Living. Consumers appreciate assistance in living life to its fullest through help with cooking, cleaning, bathing, dressing, traveling and enjoying vibrant lives in their communities through occupational, recreational and social activities. Importantly, Direct Support Professionals ensure that each consumer's rights are protected and treat consumers with dignity and respect. Training for this career can be done directly with Specialized Support Services, Inc. and the consumers.
Qualified candidates need a high school diploma or GED (or the willingness to pursue an alternative qualification once hired), the ability to pass a state-mandated background check and the desire to make a positive difference in people's lives by providing domestic, social, health, safety and emotional support.
We are looking to hire one part-time, weekend-only overnight position. The schedule is from Saturday at 10p until Sunday at 10a, and then Sunday from 10p until Monday at 7:30a. There will also be opportunities to pick up shifts at other times. This opening is a driver position, requiring applicants to have a clean driving record, their own vehicle and valid insurance. Company vehicles are used for the most part, but we still require our drivers to have their own vehicles.
