What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Manager/Lead Staff position at Specialized Support Services, Inc.?
Specialized Support Services, Inc. is looking to enhance its St. Joseph operation by hiring a House Manager/Lead Staff to manage an Individualized Supported Living (ISL) environment. The House Manager/Lead Staff will support the Director and Professional Managers in supervising the ISL and the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who provide primary supports for our consumers in implementing their Person-Centered Support Plans. The House Manager/Lead Staff will support consumers and DSPs by supervising DSPs as appropriate and ensure that ISL runs efficiently by taking responsibility for community integration, meal planning, grocery shopping, and paying consumer bills, among other responsibilities.
For this ISL, hours would be 7a-3p Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend availability will be required, along with on-call availability.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED (or the willingness to participate in an equivalency program offered through Missouri's Department of Mental Health Division of Developmental Disabilities); prior DSP experience; a good driving record, car insurance; the ability to pass a state-mandated background check; and the desire to make a positive difference in people's lives by providing domestic, social, health, safety and emotional support.
