Specialized Support Services, Inc. is looking to grow our team of excellent Direct Support Professionals who make a difference in our consumers' lives. Our Direct Support Professionals assist with the implementation of consumer Person Centered Support Plans (PCSPs) and Activities of Daily Living. Consumers appreciate assistance in living life to its fullest through help with cooking, cleaning, bathing, dressing, traveling and enjoying vibrant lives in their communities through occupational, recreational and social activities. Importantly, Direct Support Professionals ensure that each consumer's rights are protected and treat consumers with dignity and respect. Training for this career can be done directly with Specialized Support Services, Inc. and the consumers.
Qualified candidates need a high school diploma, a GED, or must be enrolled in a GED program or willing to complete DMH qualified high-school equivalency through a separate training program; the ability to pass a state-mandated background check and the desire to make a positive difference in people's lives by providing domestic, social, health, safety and emotional support.
We are hiring a full-time day position from 7a-3p, the schedule for which is from Saturday through Wednesday. Days off are Thursday and Friday. Weekend work is required. This is a driver position so applicants must have a driver license, a clean driving record and insurance. Company vehicles are used for most, if not all, required driving; but individual insurance is still required.
