Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practice sessions, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all athletes.
- Help develop training programs that enhance the skills and performance of team members.
- Provide individual and group instruction on bowling techniques, strategies, and game rules.
- Support the head coach in organizing and managing team competitions, including scheduling and logistics.
- Monitor the academic progress of athletes and promote a balance between academics and athletics.
- Foster a positive team culture by encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among athletes.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team matters and events.
- Assist in the maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good condition for practice and competition.
- Attend all team meetings, practices, and competitions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach or school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in bowling or coaching preferred.
- Strong knowledge of bowling techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, athletes, and school staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the bowling season.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment “at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.
