Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and walk-in seating requests with accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate table assignments to optimize seating flow and minimize wait times using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Answer phone inquiries professionally, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general restaurant details while maintaining proper phone etiquette
- Maintain organized waitlists and communicate effectively with guests regarding their seating status
- Support food service staff by ensuring guest needs are communicated clearly and promptly
- Uphold food safety standards and cleanliness in the host station to ensure a safe environment for all guests and staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service setting is highly preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest relations gracefully and professionally
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, waitlists, and guest counts accurately
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest requests efficiently in a busy environment
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards is a plus
- Experience with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is desirable but not required
