Service Biller

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Service Biller performs the daily tasks required to support the current and potential customer base and the service technicians. This role prepares and processes invoices for all service work, prepares reports as requested, and optimizes workflows. The Service Biller interacts with existing customers, primarily by phone and email, to ensure timely department billing, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This role facilitates internal processes and acts as a subject matter expert.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receives technician write-ups and ensures completeness

• Reconciles technician write-ups to invoices

• Prepares billings for all facets of service work

• Facilitates additions of tool charges to appropriate accounts

• Ensures invoices are comprehensive and include all required charges (material, subcontracts, etc.)

• Manages large customer-specific service billing processes and aligns with internal processes

• Creates reports for specialty service processes to support customer retention

• Ensures proper filing systems are utilized

• Prepares subcontracts for work orders when required

• Reports weekly metrics to validate process accountability and performance

• Acts as subject matter expert for integration of the ERP system into the service process

• Sets up new customers within the ERP system

• Creates new service sites within the ERP system

Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:

· High school diploma or GED, 2-4 years of experience in billing or a related field

· Efficient keyboarding skills and computer knowledge in Microsoft Office

· Good written and oral communication skills

· Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships as a team player

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to handle multiple projects and support multiple team members with minimal supervision

· Exceptional time management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills

· Ability to work well with all levels of management and staff, with strong follow-up and follow-through
