Position Overview

As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you’ll use your lived experience to offer encouragement, share coping strategies, and help individuals in our Crisis Stabilization Unit stay engaged in treatment and recovery.

What You’ll Do
- Provide peer-to-peer support for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use challenges.
- Share your recovery journey to inspire hope and model healthy coping and wellness practices.
- Promote engagement in treatment and encourage follow-through with care teams, including primary care providers, psychiatrists, and case managers.
- Advocate for members as they work toward recovery and stability.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to support individualized service plans.
- Maintain required documentation in the electronic health record system (EHR).
Qualifications
- Must hold a current Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC) credential.
- Minimum of one year of sustained recovery and stability from mental health and/or substance use challenges.
- Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to model recovery and wellness behaviors in a professional setting.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
