Your Tasks
* Plan, coordinate, and lead forestry fieldwork including timber marking, cruising, vegetation and fuels inventories, and harvest layout activities.
* Supervise and mentor forestry technicians by organizing daily workflow, providing coaching and feedback, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
* Support project preparation and documentation such as timber harvest plans, vegetation reports, and contract administration for logging, thinning, and biomass operations.
* Communicate proactively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients through meetings, calls, or written updates to ensure project alignment.
* Conduct carbon and timber inventories for verification projects and contribute data analysis and reporting.
* Coordinate with clients regarding planning, data delivery, and changes in scope while maintaining professionalism and service excellence.
* Participate in training and professional development to enhance technical and leadership skills related to forestry and compliance.
Your Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Forestry or related field and eligibility to obtain a California Registered Professional Forester (RPF) license within two years.
* Minimum of three years of relevant forestry field experience, including prior supervisory or team-lead responsibilities.
* Working knowledge of California Forest Practice Rules and project permitting processes.
* Proficiency in timber cruising, data collection, and contract administration.
* Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams in diverse field environments.
* Valid California driver's license and safe driving record.
* Physical ability to perform fieldwork in rugged terrain, varied weather, and remote locations; willingness to travel and camp as required.
