Quality Control Inspector

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring that our precision-machined aerospace and cryogenic components meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong inspection experience in a machine shop environment, proficiency with precision measurement tools, and a working knowledge of aerospace quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect machined components to verify compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and industry standards.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and generate AS9102-compliant FAIR reports.
- Utilize precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, etc.) and CMMs; Zeiss CMM programming experience is a plus.
- Document inspection results and provide objective evidence in accordance with QMS requirements.
- Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and maintain accurate records in the ERP system.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly to engineering, management, and production teams.
- Support on-time delivery by meeting inspection and shipping goals.
- Promote a safe working environment and comply with all safety regulations.
Qualifications
- 2 years of hands-on quality control inspection experience in aerospace, defense, or cryogenic industries.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 and related aerospace standards.
- Proficiency in GD&T interpretation (formal training or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with machining processes and shop environments.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Basic math, technical writing, and computer skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted.
- Vision requirements include: close, distance, color perception, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred.
