Basic Duties:
CMM Programming & Dimensional Inspection
- Develop, modify, and validate CMM inspection programs for new and existing components using PC-DMIS software.
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined aerospace parts in accordance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
- Set up and operate CMMs, conventional inspection tools, and surface plate layouts to verify part dimensions and geometries.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, models, and GD&T callouts to determine conformance and identify deviations.
- Accurately record and maintain inspection results, reports, and nonconformance documentation in accordance with quality procedures and regulatory standards.
Calibration & Equipment Maintenance
- Perform or assist in calibration and verification of measuring and test equipment, ensuring accuracy and traceability to national standards.
- Maintain calibration records and track gage performance to establish appropriate re-calibration intervals.
- Identify and segregate out-of-tolerance gages or damaged instruments, and coordinate necessary maintenance or replacement.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of inspection experience in manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Strong knowledge of CMM operations and GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) standards
- Proficient in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Solid understanding of machine shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
- Experience with electro-hydraulic servo systems and IEEE computer systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong teamwork mindset.
- Must possess personal precision tools.
