Turner Companies is hiring for the position of Site Superintendent. This role supports the Site Manager in the day-to-day management of residential construction projects for the Company. This position is responsible for overseeing the construction of assigned homes by coordinating subcontractors, scheduling inspections, monitoring quality, maintaining construction schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring homes are completed in accordance with Turner Homes' standards, plans, specifications, and applicable building codes. The Site Superintendent works closely with the Site Manager to deliver quality homes on schedule while providing exceptional service to homeowners and business partners. 


Location - Chattanooga/Ooltewah/Cleveland, TN area

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities 


  • Oversee the daily construction activities of assigned residential homes under the direction of the Site Manager.  
  • Ensure homes are constructed in accordance with Turner Homes' quality standards, approved plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.  
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, utility providers, and inspectors to maintain construction schedules.  
  • Monitor the progress of each home and communicate delays, concerns, or scheduling conflicts to the Site Manager.  
  • Schedule and coordinate municipal and third-party inspections.  
  • Conduct routine quality inspections and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.  
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites in accordance with company policies and OSHA requirements.  
  • Assist in enforcing job site safety and report unsafe conditions immediately.  
  • Coordinate homeowner orientations, walkthroughs, and pre-closing inspections.  
  • Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, and follow up to ensure outstanding items are completed before closing.  
  • Document construction progress and maintain accurate records using company software and mobile applications.  
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with homeowners, subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, and coworkers.  
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with internal departments to support construction timelines.  
  • Work overtime as needed to meet project schedules and business demands.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Manager. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 


  • Knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, sequencing, and quality standards.  
  • Basic understanding of residential building codes and inspection requirements.  
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and surveys.  
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple homes simultaneously.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to identify construction issues and work with the Site Manager to develop effective solutions.  
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, email, smartphones, tablets, and construction management software.  
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Site Manager and other departments.  
  • Ability to maintain professionalism with homeowners, subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, and coworkers. 
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.  
  • Reliable personal vehicle available for travel between job sites.  
  • Ability to use smartphones, tablets, and laptops for construction management and documentation. 
  • Ability to work safely in an active residential construction environment and outdoors in varying weather conditions.  
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain and navigate active construction sites.  
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and enter partially completed structures.  
  • Ability to frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand for extended periods.  
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.  
  • Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Compensation 


  • Paid bi-weekly 
  • annual salary determined by experience, $60,000-$70,000
