Responsibilities
- Own and manage the integrated project plan covering all segmentation phases, including pre-enforcement, enforcement, validation, re-enforcement, and operational transition
- Coordinate work across Information Security, Network Engineering, MSS, Telecom, HTM, and external vendors to ensure timely execution of segmentation activities
- Facilitate project intake, kickoff, working sessions, and recurring status and leadership updates
- Track risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (e.g., vendor limitations, network hardware constraints, device owner readiness) and drive mitigation or escalation
- Ensure segmentation activities align to enterprise standards, approved charters, and governance bodies (e.g., segmentation and SGT governance)
- Maintain project documentation, including milestones, enforcement metrics, decision logs, and completion criteria
- Support transition planning to steady state operations, including defined ownership, change management, and ongoing enforcement processes
- Lead projects of medium to high complexity, and may also support projects of high complexity, as part of a program team in collaboration with a Senior Project Manager and/or Program Manager
- Achieve project objectives and completion on time, on budget, and in conformance to IT methodologies and practices
- Solicit technological input from senior technical resources assigned to their project team(s), and facilitate technology problem-solving activities
- Manage projects with budget responsibility up to (USD)1 million and may require matrix supervision of staff from other IT departments and divisions, and contractor/vendor resources
- May support senior level project/program managers in strategic planning processes
- Make judgments and take reasonable and prudent actions to accomplish agreed upon project objectives under minimal direct supervision
- Advise other IT staff regarding project management practices, methods, and standards
- Routinely demonstrate the Project Focused Culture within the Information Technology department
- Manage multiple competing objectives, prioritize, and communicate complex technical information in clear and unambiguous terms to management and end user personnel
- Assure strict adherence to budget management and guidelines of both the Information Technology department and the institution
- May participate in the development and tracking of project budgets
- Perform additional job-related functions as detailed by immediate supervisor
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross functional IT infrastructure or cybersecurity projects
- Working understanding of network segmentation and enterprise networking concepts sufficient to manage technical dependencies and risks (no hands on configuration required)
- Strong stakeholder management skills in a regulated enterprise environment
- Proven ability to develop clear project reporting, dashboards, and executive ready status materials (e.g., schedule health, enforcement progress, risks and blockers)
- Experience translating technical execution into concise leadership communications and decision support
- PMP or equivalent project management experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working directly with engineers and operational teams to validate real world behaviors and constraints
- Highly detail oriented and process driven, with experience supporting multiple device classes or technology domains
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web Browsers
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience managing projects of simple and moderate complexity involving Information Technology and/or Healthcare disciplines, which includes experience leading projects using PMI Process Groups and Knowledge Areas
- OR
- Master’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience managing projects of simple to moderate complexity involving Information Technology and/or Healthcare disciplines, which includes experience leading projects using PMI Process Groups and Knowledge Areas
