Civil Senior Engineering Technician

As a Civil Senior Engineering Technician, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.

Responsibilities

• Function as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor
• Apply advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline
• Contribute to the development of innovative engineering solutions
• Use digital tools and design software (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
• Provide consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards
• Establish and communicate appropriate design and graphic standards
• Review project requirements to determine correct formats and deliverable content
• Promote quality and consistency across projects, groups, and sections
• Review design inputs to ensure alignment and consistency
• Ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards
• May contribute to continuous improvement of design guides, standards, and processes
• May participate in and lead process improvement and change management activities
• Manage drawing control and maintain historical project records
• Apply engineering principles and established design practices to complex designs
• Exercise sound judgment in interpreting inputs and making deliverable-related decisions
• Handle complex technical assignments and provide guidance to other professionals
• Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and documentation
• May review deliverables produced by others for quality and accuracy
• May coordinate presentations, production design, and use of electronic design tools
• May monitor production to ensure consistency, budget, and schedule
• May program control systems or support plant start-up activities within area of expertise
• Coordinate with other design groups to exchange information for design development
• May support field activities as required
• Communicate project design requirements, progress, and schedules
• Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers; communicate these to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate concerns
• Assist discipline or department management in developing and communicating appropriate design standards and process improvement activities
• Identify and support training and development needs for supervised personnel
• Recognized for expertise in one or more areas; may be assigned special assignments depending on technical expertise, including solving particular design problems or participating in focused project task teams
• Make presentations and conduct training classes within a specialized area of expertise
  
  

Qualifications

• Education:
• Associate's degree in Drafting or Engineering Design related technology (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Design related technology (preferred)
• Experience:
• Minimum 11 years of related work experience
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $110,000 or the hourly equivalent.
