Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Pricing Analyst to join the Finance team of an established professional services organization. This individual will support the development and execution of pricing strategies, analyze financial performance, and collaborate with attorneys, Business Development, and senior leadership to develop competitive and profitable pricing solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring direct law firm pricing experience, strong financial modeling skills, and familiarity with Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFAs). This position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic pricing initiatives without direct people-management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze pricing strategies for new and existing client engagements.
- Partner with attorneys and Business Development teams to evaluate pricing structures and client proposals.
- Assist with the development, evaluation, and monitoring of Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFAs).
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate pricing scenarios, profitability, rates, and engagement economics.
- Analyze historical billing, collection, and financial data to support pricing recommendations.
- Support pricing initiatives across multiple practice groups and business areas.
- Assist with client proposals, RFP responses, and other pricing-related requests.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to attorneys and internal stakeholders.
- Support matter budgeting, financial monitoring, and profitability reporting.
- Prepare financial reports, presentations, and pricing analyses for senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve pricing processes, reporting, and analytical capabilities.
- Collaborate with Finance and Business Development teams on additional pricing projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3 years of legal pricing, financial analysis, or related law firm finance experience.
- Direct experience supporting pricing initiatives within a law firm environment strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFAs) and legal pricing strategies.
- Strong financial modeling, profitability analysis, and data analysis skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience analyzing billing rates, financial performance, and matter profitability.
- Ability to communicate financial information and pricing recommendations clearly to attorneys and business stakeholders.
- Experience working with Business Development, Finance, and legal professionals.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
- Experience with legal financial, pricing, budgeting, or reporting systems preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
