Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support multiple initiatives within BMO’s Deposits portfolio. This individual will lead complex, cross-functional projects in a primarily Waterfall delivery environment, partnering closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and enterprise PMO functions to drive execution from initiation through delivery.
The ideal candidate brings strong financial services experience, exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, and a proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with disciplined project governance. This role requires someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced banking environment with evolving priorities and tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple projects within the Deposits space.
- Manage project execution utilizing primarily Waterfall methodologies, including project planning, requirements management, scheduling, governance, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, RAID logs, status reports, and executive updates.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, technology teams, and vendors to define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Drive project governance activities and ensure alignment with enterprise PMO standards and controls.
- Coordinate dependencies across teams and proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Facilitate project meetings, steering committees, and stakeholder communications at all organizational levels.
- Monitor project budgets, resource allocations, and delivery timelines to ensure successful execution.
- Ensure documentation, testing coordination, and implementation activities are completed according to project standards.
- Support change management and operational readiness activities associated with project delivery.
- Track and report project health, milestones, and delivery metrics to leadership teams.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of Project Management experience within large enterprise environments.
- Strong experience managing projects within the financial services or banking industry.
- Proven experience leading projects in a Waterfall delivery environment.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of PMO governance, project lifecycle management, and reporting standards.
- Ability to manage project budgets in Clarity
- Hands-on experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Clarity, or similar platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience interacting with senior leadership.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Deposits, Retail Banking, or Consumer Banking initiatives.
- Familiarity with banking regulatory and compliance environments.
- Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies in hybrid environments.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Experience coordinating technology and business teams within enterprise-scale initiatives.
