This position plays a vital role in supporting the expansion and maintenance of product selection through vendor management and catalog administration. The role requires coordination across multiple functions to ensure accurate product information, competitive pricing, and seamless new product introductions. Working closely with the buying team, this individual will manage critical data elements that drive business decisions while maintaining strong vendor relationships. The position demands exceptional organizational abilities and technical proficiency to handle the diverse responsibilities of product lifecycle management, from initial setup through ongoing maintenance and special project support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in expanding product selection by identifying and setting up new vendors and items
- Coordinate and execute new product launches across all relevant systems and channels
- Maintain accurate product catalog information including specifications, descriptions, and attributes Manage and update product costs and retail pricing to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
- Oversee product content and image management to maintain high-quality catalog presentation
- Build and maintain positive vendor relationships through regular communication and collaboration
- Support special projects as assigned by the buying team
- Serve as backup to Control Buyer, providing support and coverage as needed
- Train on Control Buyer responsibilities to ensure business continuity
Skills:
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency with procurement systems (Coupa, Fairmarket)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of data management principles and database systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience with complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations
- Team-oriented mindset with collaborative work style
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field)
- MBA preferred but not required
Certifications: CPSM, CIPS, or CPM certification is a plus but not mandatory
