The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance activities for the organization. This role ensures accurate, timely financial reporting while strengthening processes, systems, and controls to support a private equity operating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Financial Reporting & Close Process
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules for executive leadership and private equity ownership.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain strong documentation and audit trails.
- Deliver clear variance analysis and insights on operational performance, margins, and EBITDA drivers.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee all accounting functions including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Inventory Accounting
- Fixed Assets
- Payroll coordination with HR
- Ensure proper cost accounting practices within a manufacturing environment.
Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting
- Maintain accurate inventory valuation, standard costing, and cost of goods sold analysis.
- Partner with Operations to analyze production costs, yield, labor efficiency, and waste.
- Support margin analysis by product line, customer, and facility.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate external audits and support due diligence processes for lenders and investors.
Private Equity Reporting
- Prepare reporting packages for ownership including KPI dashboards, EBITDA reconciliation, and operational metrics.
- Support lender reporting and covenant compliance.
- Assist in financial modeling and analysis to support strategic initiatives.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead improvements in ERP systems, reporting tools, and financial processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and increase reporting efficiency.
- Implement scalable accounting infrastructure to support growth and acquisitions.
Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and Sales.
To be eligible for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience
- 5 years in a leadership role within manufacturing or food production
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory management
- Experience leading month-end close processes in complex environments
Preferred
- CPA or CMA designation
- Experience in private equity-backed organizations
- Multi-site manufacturing experience
- ERP implementation or optimization experience
Salary : $160,000 - $230,000
