Job Summary
The Manufacturing Work Order Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the flow of work orders through the manufacturing process. This includes opening and closing work orders and everything in between. This role assists that production schedules are met in a timely manner, work orders are accurately processed and resources are effectively allocated to meet production demands.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and prioritize manufacturing work orders to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Collaborate with production teams, engineering, and supply chain personnel to ensure accurate work order execution.
- Monitor work order progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions proactively.
- Maintain detailed records of work order status, changes, and related documentation for traceability and compliance.
- Review work orders for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Support inventory management by ensuring materials are allocated correctly for scheduled work orders.
- Facilitate communication across departments to streamline workflows and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Create, review and manage work orders, ensuring they are accurate and complete with all necessary information, including materials, labor and equipment requirments.
- Act as liaison between production deparments, purchasing and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of work orders.
- Ability to read blueprints
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Work Order Coordinator or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and work order management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and convey technical information clearly.
- Proficiency in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) software or equivalent manufacturing management tools, Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
