Tube Mill Production Clerk

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Mill Operations Supervisor, the Mill Production Clerk provides organizational, administrative, and operational support for the RS40 and RS100 Mills. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate records, coordinating production activities, staging materials, and ensuring operators and supervisors have the documentation and information they need to run efficiently. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication are essential for success in this role.

Under the direction of the Mill Operations Supervisor, the Mill Production Clerk provides organizational, administrative, and operational support for the RS40 and RS100 Mills. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate records, coordinating production activities, staging materials, and ensuring operators and supervisors have the documentation and information they need to run efficiently. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication are essential for success in this role..

•       Ensure all production documentation, including Work Orders, setup sheets, changeover records, and quality checklists, are accurately maintained and filed in a timely manner.
•       Support mill operators and supervisors by preparing, issuing, and closing Production Work Orders to ensure accurate and efficient production tracking.
•       Track and document downtime, scrap, and other production events.
•      Maintain organized records to ensure readiness for Quality and Safety audits, including logbooks, training records, and compliance checklists.
•       Support the development, revision, and implementation of procedures, training programs, and checklists. Ensure documents are current, accessible, and consistently used.
•       Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production, safety, and maintenance reporting requirements.
•      Ensure all tools, materials, and documentation needed for operation/changeovers/set-ups are available, organized, and in proper working order.
•       Assist in identifying and documenting opportunities for continuous improvement in production processes, changeovers, and clerical practices.
•       Maintain the storage area for all mill-related items, tooling, and consumables in a clean, organized, and well-labeled condition.
•   Monitor inventory levels for consumables, tooling, and supplies. Notify the Mill Supervisor when items need to be reordered and assist in coordinating replenishment.
•   Conduct periodic cycle counts of mill-related inventory to verify accuracy and reduce shortages or overstock situations.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

·        Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment; tube mill or steel industry experience preferred.

·        Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation under tight timelines.

·        Effective communication and coordination skills; able to work closely with operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems (Visual ERP, RF Plus, or similar).

·        Self-starter with a high attention to detail; able to work independently with minimal supervision.

·        Demonstrated ability to support process improvement and standardization initiatives.

Willingness to develop technical knowledge of tube manufacturing and upgrade skills as required.
