Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable Tube Mill Team Member to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assisting with the operation of a tube mill production line that converts steel coil into welded steel tubing through forming rolls, welding equipment, straightening stations, and packaging systems.
Team members are cross-trained to support various areas of the production line, including coil loading and uncoiler operations, tube mill operation, weld box monitoring, straightening and sizing operations, quality inspections, and packaging. This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Schedule: The tube mill currently operates on a 4-day/10-hour schedule (Monday–Thursday). Employees should be willing to work overtime, including occasional Fridays or extended shifts, as needed to meet production requirements.
Pay: Competitive wages based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and operation of the tube mill production line.
- Load steel coils onto coil-handling equipment and monitor the continuous feed of material into the production line.
- Monitor tube forming and welding processes.
- Assist with straightening, sizing, and finishing operations.
- Perform quality checks and inspections of finished tubing.
- Use measuring tools to verify product dimensions and specifications.
- Package finished products according to customer requirements.
- Safely handle materials and finished goods.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (if trained and authorized).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to maintain production flow.
Requirements
- Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred but not required.
- Experience working around steel processing equipment is an asset.
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery.
- Ability to read measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime when required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurement and fabrication tasks.
