Description Program Support - Recreation The Program Support position at Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center is a regular, part-time position focused on supporting assigned recreation programs and assisting front desk operations. Responsibilities include providing excellent customer service at the front desk, assisting with daily facility operations, and supporting recreation programs and activities based on department needs. This position receives direct supervision from the recreation program coordinator, limited supervision from the programming staff, and may exercise lead direction over other part-time staff and volunteers.
Key components of the job include (but are not limited to): Support the planning and daily operation of assigned recreation programs, including sports classes and weekend programs. Provide lead directions to assigned part-time sports staff by assigning and overseeing daily class responsibilities, assisting with staff schedules, delivering training, and offering ongoing coaching and support to maintain a safe, engaging program environment. Must be comfortable and confident teaching youth sports classes for patrons aged 2-15 years.
This includes the sports of soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc. Assist in monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness, gathering feedback, and adjusting programs to enhance patron experience and achieve established outcomes. Lead or co-lead program activities as needed to ensure smooth transitions, active participation, and a positive, inclusive experience for all patrons.
Support front desk operations by assisting with patron registrations, check-ins, and general inquiries. Actively promote, model, and support diversity, equity, inclusion, and access to create a welcoming and supportive program environment for participants and staff. Minimum Qualifications Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and two (2) years of relevant experience in sports instruction, recreation education, including lived experience.
Current First Aid and CPR certifications OR ability to obtain upon hire. Valid Oregon Driver's License and an acceptable driving record (see Driver Eligibility Requirements below). Schedule We are hiring for a regular part-time position that may be scheduled for up to 29 hours per week.
Schedule is typically Friday-Monday within the hours of 8am - 8pm dependent on program needs. Pay The hiring range for this position is $27.84 - $31.38, based on experience and internal equity. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September
