This recruitment will establish an eligibility list for current and future vacancies for Customer Engagement Representative positions. These positions may remain open until filled and the eligibility list will be active for one year.
The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is now accepting applications to fill two (2) Full-time Bilingual Customer Engagement Representative positions. The Customer Engagement Representative - Bilingual is responsible for providing a welcoming and inclusive office environment for both patrons and staff.
We are currently recruiting for two positions*:
- Parkside Building: Mon-Fri, 8 AM – 5 PM. Filling bilingual Spanish speaking vacancy.
- Garden Home Recreation Center: Schedule is Mon-Friday, day shift (exact hours of work are to be determined). Seeking candidates speaking a language included in the list of top 10 languages represented in the district.
*Assignments and schedules are subject to change based on organizational and seasonal need.
The focus of the Customer Engagement Representative position is front desk operations and customer service. Successful applicants will have at least one year of experience providing administrative and clerical support within a department, and an interest in public service. They will be responsible for high-level communication including patron calls and emails, understanding center operations and district program offerings, and training on front desk operations.
The Customer Engagement Representative position is represented by the Oregon School Employees Association (OSEA), a member-driven union that offers support under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

- Welcomes patrons, visitors and the community to district centers and facilities;
- Engages and builds rapport with patrons and visitors to better understand needs; gathers information from patrons, visitors and district staff to respond to inquiries and provide recommendations on district programs and services to meet customer needs (e.g. Centro de Bienvenida, park reservation process and connecting patrons to financial aid resources.)
- Registers participants for classes and receives money and issues receipts following registration procedures.
- Reconciles daily cash receipts, petty cash and refunds; prepares bank deposits.
- Assists with content design and management of social media accounts.
- Maintains bulletin boards and display cases and center/office decorations.
- Attends staff meetings; serves on or provides support to a variety of committees, task forces or groups as assigned
Completion of the twelfth (12th) grade or equivalent work-life experience One (1) year of general clerical and/or receptionist experience which must have included public contact.
Salary : $2,391 - $2,903
