Morning Shift Lead – Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center (Bilingual in Spanish Preferred)

Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD) is looking for dependable, self-directed staff committed to delivering the best customer service possible at Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center.

Position Overview – Customer Engagement Assistant III - Shift Lead

This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities include greeting the public, registering patrons for classes, checking in drop-in participants, and resolving time-sensitive issues using sound judgment and problem-solving skills, in addition to completing assigned clerical duties.

Pay Rate: $22.90 hourly

This position is eligible for a 5% bilingual pay incentive in addition to hourly rate

The hiring rate for this position is $22.90. The full hourly range for this job classification is $22.90 to $25.82. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.

Schedule & Training Period

The regular shift schedule for this position is expected to be:

  • Mondays: 5:15 am – 10:45 am
  • Tuesdays: 5:15 am – 10:45 am
  • Wednesdays: 5:15 am – 10:45 am
  • Fridays: 5:15am – 10:45 am

Candidates can expect to begin working this set schedule in August, following successful completion of training. During the initial training period, team members will work closely with staff to learn front desk operations, procedures, and expectations.

Training will require a flexible schedule and may include morning, midday, and closing shifts to familiarize them with all center operations and provide exposure to multiple shift types. Once training is complete, shifts will transition into early morning working independently, requiring confidence in managing front desk responsibilities.

Job Duties May Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Independently open, close and lead the front desk staff
  • Greet the public, creating a positive experience for customers through professional and courteous behavior, providing information and assistance regarding schedules, program descriptions and other general district information over the phone and in person
  • Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate personnel and take accurate messages
  • Record retention, receipting money, and performing related registration procedures
  • Assist with the daily cleaning and sanitization of work and public spaces, equipment and program supplies to maintain the health and safety of all participants and staff

  • Must be at least 18 years of age on your first day of work
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred

PART-TIME VARIABLE (PT): Part-time variable (PT) employees work less than 29 hours per week on average annually. However, they have the option of working additional hours during periods like summer or winter months. PT are eligible to receive benefits such as Paid Time Off (PTO), Holiday Pay, Compassionate Leave, and Inclement Weather Pay (if required to work).

SEASONAL: Seasonal employment is temporary and allows employees to work only during certain times of the year, up to 40 hours per week for a maximum duration of six (6) consecutive months. Seasonal employees are eligible to receive benefits such as Holiday Pay, Compassionate Leave, and Inclement Weather Pay (if required to work). Effective February 15, 2026, seasonal employees will also be eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (PTO)!

Leave

  • Paid Time Off - Paid leave type for part-time variable employees. Paid Time Off (PTO), will accrue at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked. This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason! Effective February 15, 2026 the accrual rate for PTO will increase to one (1) hour earned for every 23 hours worked and will include seasonal employees!
  • The ability to accrue paid sick leave at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked
  • Family Medical Leave eligibility for qualified family and medical related reasons
  • Paid compassionate leave is available to all part-time employees to grieve the loss of an immediate family member, to make arrangements (if necessary), and to attend memorial services. Employees are eligible for paid compassionate leave for up to the hours scheduled in their average work week.
