- Coordinate with vendors for installation, activation, and service delivery
- Manage equipment inventory, asset tracking, and operational logistics
- Work with Finance and Legal teams for approvals (vendor coordination focus; not contract negotiation)
- Liaise with carriers such as Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T to secure priority network access (FirstNet)
3. Event Execution & Leadership
- Conduct site surveys (60–70% field work) to plan infrastructure, power, and equipment placement
- Provide real-time monitoring and troubleshooting of network performance (Ping, DNS, etc.)
- Supervise part-time staff during live event operations
- Act quickly under pressure with a “Plan B” mindset during outages or failures
- Lead event breakdown and post-event documentation
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving future event “playbooks”
Critical Success Factors
- Strong understanding of cellular networks, carrier coordination, and connectivity solutions
- Experience with Cradlepoint, FirstNet, and cellular “Cells on Wheels (COWs)” highly preferred
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work and project coordination
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, outdoor, and high-pressure event environments
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and adaptability
Technical Environment
- Hardware: Windows/Mac laptops, AV equipment, printers, Cradlepoint routers
- Specialty Tech: Starlink, RF/Cellular systems, point-to-point connectivity
- Tools: Network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark is a plus)

- 5–10 years of overall IT experience
- 2–4 years of IT/Event Technology support experience (required)
- Strong background in:

- Basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, connectivity troubleshooting)
- Experience with vendor coordination, logistics, and project lifecycle management
Work Environment & Schedule
- 60–70% of time spent on-site (Central Park, Brooklyn, and other NYC locations)
- Heavy weekend commitment during peak seasons (e.g., RBC Kids Race, Brooklyn Half, NYC Marathon)
- Early mornings, evenings, and extended hours required during event weeks
- Comp days provided in lieu of overtime
