Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk supports manufacturing operations by ensuring raw materials, components, and finished goods are received, stored, and shipped accurately and on time. This role helps maintain production flow, inventory accuracy, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive raw materials, components, and supplies for manufacturing operations
- Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, damage, and quality compliance
- Verify shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips
- Enter inventory transactions into ERP or inventory management systems
- Stage materials for production and coordinate with production teams
- Prepare and ship finished goods according to customer and carrier requirements
- Package, label, and document shipments in compliance with company and customer standards
- Coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with carriers
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving areas
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment (if certified)
- Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures (ISO, GMP, or similar, if applicable)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) a plus
- Ability to read technical paperwork, part numbers, and production documentation
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to [X] lbs and work on the production floor
