A respected and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Healthcare Licensing & Regulatory Attorney to join its Litigation Practice Group. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior attorney who has significant experience defending healthcare providers in licensing, regulatory, administrative, and related litigation matters. (Best Law Firms (2026): Ranked across 60 practice areas spanning Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Kalamazoo)

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 6 years of experience representing healthcare professionals, physician groups, hospitals, health systems, long-term care providers, and other healthcare organizations before licensing boards, administrative agencies, and regulatory bodies.

What You'll Do

• Defend healthcare providers in licensing investigations, disciplinary proceedings, administrative hearings, and appeals.
• Advise healthcare organizations on regulatory compliance, licensure, accreditation, and risk management matters.
• Represent clients in government investigations, audits, and enforcement actions.
• Counsel clients on HIPAA, HITECH, provider enrollment, and other healthcare regulatory requirements.
• Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, position statements, and other advocacy materials.
• Appear before administrative agencies, licensing boards, and courts.
• Develop defense strategies tailored to complex healthcare regulatory matters.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor.
• Participate in business development and practice growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Michigan Bar admission or eligibility for admission.
• 6 years of experience defending healthcare providers and organizations.
• Significant healthcare regulatory, licensing, administrative, or related litigation experience.
• Experience appearing before licensing boards, administrative agencies, and regulatory bodies.
• Strong advocacy, litigation, negotiation, research, and writing skills.
• Experience with HIPAA, HITECH, compliance, investigations, and audits is highly preferred.
• Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters and client relationships.
