Trustpoint is excited to partner with a leading legal solutions provider in search of a Litigation Discovery Assistant to join its Newark, NJ team. This is an exciting direct hire opportunity for a litigation legal assistant, paralegal, or recent graduate looking to build a career in litigation and discovery. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with large amounts of information, and interested in managing case files, discovery materials, and supporting documentation. Prior discovery or litigation experience is a plus, particularly in mass torts, product liability, personal injury, or medical malpractice, but motivated recent graduates with strong organizational, data management, and analytical skills are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Review claimant files to identify missing information, documentation, and discovery requirements
- Manage Plaintiff Fact Sheets, questionnaires, discovery responses, and related case materials
- Track deadlines, deficiencies, outstanding documentation, and case requirements
- Review, organize, and maintain medical, pharmacy, and other supporting records
- Communicate directly with claimants to obtain missing information and documentation
- Assist with preparing and coordinating discovery responses and supporting evidence
- Monitor compliance with court-ordered discovery and case management requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and discovery records
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and internal teams to keep matters moving
- Serve as a key point of contact for claimants throughout the discovery process
Qualifications:
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- 2 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant or paralegal with hands-on discovery experience preferred
- Strong organizational, data entry, data management, or administrative experience
- Experience managing large amounts of information or documentation
- Litigation, discovery, mass tort, personal injury, medical malpractice, or product liability experience is a plus
- Experience reviewing medical records or legal documentation is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing or inconsistent information
- Excellent organization, follow-through, and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time
Details:
- Direct hire
- Location: Newark, NJ
- Fully onsite, 5 days per week
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Salary: $50,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience
- Bonus opportunity: Up to $20,000 annually, paid bi-weekly based on internal performance metrics
