Trustpoint is proud to partner with a nationally respected law firm in their search for an IP Docket Manager. This is a full-time, direct hire position offering a hybrid in schedule and wonderful benefits. Successful candidates will 7 years' experience in Intellectual Property docketing and 3 years' experience in a supervisory role in a IP docketing department. This role is available for candidates in Atlanta, GA or Cleveland, OH.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and evaluate docket professionals across experience levels; set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and build individualized development and cross-training plans
- Allocate workloads, assign queues, and manage coverage to ensure deadlines and service levels are met
- Oversee all U.S. and foreign patent and trademark filing workflows, including PCT, EPO, and WIPO matters
- Administer and serve as system owner for IPMS platforms (e.g., CPI, PATTSY, AQX, Symphony, Foundation IP), including configuration, rulesets, and data integrity
- Develop and enforce written policies, SOPs, and productivity standards while driving process improvements
- Monitor deadlines, quality, and on-time filings, establishing and managing a quality assurance program
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, practice leadership, and vendors to improve processes, workflows, and training programs
- Support IPMS conversions and implementations, including data migration, testing, and change management initiatives
- Define and track KPIs, publishing dashboards and reports to leadership
- Recruit, train, and mentor docketing staff while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7 years of IP docketing experience across U.S. and foreign patent and trademark matters
- 3 years of experience leading or supervising an IP docketing team
- Expert knowledge of U.S. patent rules, PCT procedures, EPO guidelines, and major foreign filing requirements
- Hands-on IPMS administration and conversion/implementation experience
- Strong skills in process design, policy development, and continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with NetDocuments or iManage DMS, Aderant or Elite 3E financial systems, and Intapp Open
- Excellent communication and change leadership skills with the ability to train and upskill teams in a fast-paced environment

Salary : $140,000 - $150,000
