What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Data Assistant position at Trumbull Industries?
The Product Data Assistant supports Trumbull Industries' E-Commerce team in maintaining accurate, well-structured product data across our catalog of nearly 120,000 SKUs. This is a high-volume execution role focused on cleaning, formatting, and entering product information for kitchen, bath, and plumbing products. The work directly impacts how our products appear on Amazon, Lowe's, Home Depot, and other major channels. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, methodical, and looking to build foundational e-commerce and product data experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and reformat product data files from suppliers according to provided templates.
- Enter product attributes into Akeneo PIM following defined standards.
- Rename, reorder, and tag product image files based on naming conventions.
- Run validation checklists against batches of SKUs and flag anything that fails.
- Cross-check product specs across multiple sources and highlight discrepancies.
- Maintain trackers and logs of completed work and outstanding items.
- Escalate unclear or suspicious data to the Product Data Specialist rather than guessing.
Technical Skills
- Solid working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets including sorting, filtering, basic formulas, and find and replace.
- Comfort following written SOPs precisely.
- Basic familiarity with file management and naming conventions.
- Prior PIM or e-commerce platform exposure is a plus but not required.
Education
High school diploma required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Fields like Business, IT, Marketing, or Communications are good fits but not required.
Experience
0 to 2 years. Acceptable backgrounds include data entry, virtual assistance, e-commerce listing support, administrative work, customer service with documentation responsibilities, or any role requiring sustained attention to detail.
